Back To The Future – Czech Nets – Karolina

Karolina, born in Prague went on to study anthropology and international relations.

Though, her business idea didn´t come from abroad but closer to home. It was her grandma, who dug out an 80 years old shopping net instead of a plastic bag to carry her groceries. Back in 1926, as short hair got into fashion and a company in Zdar nad Sazavou had the idea to compensate for the declining demand for hairnets by turning them into shopping nets.

Later, the company was state-owned and at one point the production stopped. Karolina saw the potential especially regarding today´s spirit of a circular economy. So, she founded Česká Síťovka in 2012. Produced in the Czech Republic, as well as the use of recycled materials, bio-cotton and bamboo, make it a sustainable product. On the other hand, the design is a key element to add beauty to practicality. Over time, the range of reusable shopping nets got extended to handbags and other fashionable accessories.

An inspirational success story made in the Czech Republic that adds more colours and sustainable solutions to our life. Check out the range on their e-shop or find it on more than 150 stores in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
