The Czech film Šarlatán was chosen among the candidates for this year’s European Film prices!
The European Film Academy (EFA) has included Šarlatán, the latest film by director Agnieszka Holland with Ivan Trojan in the lead role, among the best European films aspiring to win this year’s European Film Awards.
Another Czech film making it to the lists this year is the black and white drama by Václav Marhoul Painted Birds (Czech: Nabarvené ptáče).
On the 7th of November, the selection will be narrowed down during the Seville Film Festival and the final winner will emerge after a vote by more than 3600 EFA members to be announced on December 12th during a special ceremony in Iceland.
After a successful world premiere at the Berlinale and launch at the official Telluride Film Festival Šarlatán will truly become part of the film world.
Šarlatán will be screened in Czech theatres from August 20th.
